On Thursday, 28th May 2026, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, joined the University of Ghana Medical Students’ Association (UGMSA), Korle Bu Campus, at Battor Senior High School for the Pad A Girl Campaign 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene education and supporting adolescent girls with sanitary products.

The outreach program benefited students from six schools across the district, including both public and private institutions. Through health education sessions, awareness creation, and the distribution of menstrual hygiene materials, the campaign addressed issues of menstrual health management, personal hygiene, and period poverty while empowering young girls to pursue their education with confidence and dignity.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe commended the leadership, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and partners of UGMSA for selecting North Tongu for the impactful intervention. She noted that the initiative complements ongoing efforts to promote quality education, gender equality, and the well-being of young people within the district.

The DCE further encouraged institutions, corporate organizations, and development partners to continue supporting programs that empower girls, improve educational outcomes, and contribute to the personal development of young people.

The Pad A Girl Campaign 2026 highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing challenges affecting adolescent girls and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
