Yakubu Abukari
Central Administration is headed by the District Coordinating Director (DCD) and is responsible for ensuring the implementation of governmental policies, projects and programmes at the MMDAs level.
The department guides policy formulation, planning and decision-making at the Assembly.
As part of its responsibilities, Central Administration acts as a liaison between Heads of other governmental and non-governmental agencies and the District Chief Executive (DCE). It manages financial and other resources of the Assembly in consultation with the District Chief Executive (DCE).
The Head of the Department serves as a Secretary to the Assembly and chairs the District Planning and Coordinating Unit (DPCU) and acts as an advisor to the District Chief Executive (DCE). The Department also ensures that the capabilities, skills and knowledge of staff are well developed.
Jacob Nunekpeku
The Development Planning Unit is responsible for coordinating the preparation and implementation of medium- and long-term development plans for the District Assembly. The Unit conducts needs assessments and supports data collection and analysis to inform planning decisions. It ensures alignment of district plans with national development frameworks, monitors and evaluates development projects and programmes, and prepares periodic progress reports. The Unit collaborates with stakeholders, including communities and development partners, and ensures that planning processes are participatory, inclusive, and in line with established policies and guidelines.
Victor Gbeve
The Procurement Unit is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the procurement of goods, works, and services for the District Assembly in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Unit prepares annual procurement plans, facilitates tendering and bidding processes, and ensures transparency and fairness in supplier selection. The Unit manages contracts, monitors supplier performance, and ensures timely delivery of goods and services. It also maintains accurate procurement records, advises departments on procurement procedures, and ensures compliance with national procurement policies and guidelines.
Annette Aseye Abledu
The IT Unit is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting computer hardware, software, and network systems within the District Assembly to ensure smooth operations. The Unit manages user accounts, provides technical support to staff, and troubleshoots system and equipment issues in a timely manner. The Unit ensures the security of IT systems and data through regular updates, backups, and adherence to cybersecurity best practices. It also oversees the maintenance of internet connectivity and internal communication systems, supports the implementation of e-government initiatives, and assists in the procurement and management of IT equipment. Additionally, the Unit provides basic IT training and guidance to staff, monitors system performance, and ensures compliance with national ICT policies and standards.
Osman Hudu
The Records Management Unit is responsible for receiving, sorting, and classifying incoming and outgoing correspondence and official documents, while maintaining an organized filing system for both physical and electronic records to ensure easy retrieval. The Unit ensures the safe custody and confidentiality of all Assembly records, tracks the movement of files across departments, and supports staff in proper records handling procedures. The Unit manages the archiving of inactive records and oversees their disposal in accordance with established policies, while promoting digitization to improve access and preservation. Additionally, the Unit responds to requests for information, retrieves files as needed, maintains registers for incoming and outgoing documents, and ensures compliance with national records management standards and guidelines.
