Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa was born on 11 August 1980 in Ghana and hails from Aveyime Battor in the North Tongu area of the Volta Region. He developed strong interest in leadership and public service at an early age.
He pursued higher education at the University of Ghana, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy. He later earned a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the same university. His academic training focused on governance, communication, and public policy.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa first gained national recognition during his student years when he served as President of the National Union of Ghana Students. In this role, he advocated for student welfare, improved education policies, and youth involvement in national development.
He is a member of the National Democratic Congress and has served as Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency since 2013. Over the years, he has been re elected by his constituents and has become known for his active participation in parliamentary debates and his advocacy for accountability and transparency in governance.
Between 2013 and 2017, he served as Deputy Minister for Education and also as Deputy Minister for Information under President John Dramani Mahama. In these roles, he contributed to education policy implementation and government communication efforts.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa currently serves as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Ghana. In this position, he oversees Ghana’s foreign relations, represents the country in international engagements, and works to strengthen diplomatic ties with other nations.
He is widely recognized for his commitment to public service, youth leadership, and national development. He remains actively involved in constituency development and national policy discussions while continuing to represent the people of North Tongu in Parliament.
