STAKEHOLDERS INSPECT PROGRESS OF SEGE BATTOR MEPE ROAD PROJECT

North Tongu, Tuesday, 24th February 2026

Key stakeholders conducted an inspection of the ongoing Sege Battor Mepe Road Project to assess progress and ensure that work continues according to approved timelines and standards.

The inspection was carried out in collaboration with the District Chief Executive from Ada West District and other relevant stakeholders. The exercise provided an opportunity to review the contractor’s performance and evaluate the quality of work completed so far.

During the inspection, the contractor reported that the project had achieved 15 percent completion within the first three weeks of work. The project is scheduled for full completion on 29th December 2027. Stakeholders expressed general satisfaction with the pace and quality of work but requested clarification on specific technical issues to ensure strict compliance with project standards.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to construct effective drainage systems along the road corridor to prevent flooding and erosion. Stakeholders also highlighted the importance of providing bus stops at strategic locations to improve safety and convenience for commuters who will use the road.

The contractor assured the communities along the project route of the safety and durability of the road once completed. Plans were also announced to organise HIV awareness campaigns within affected communities as part of the contractor’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Residents and property owners along the project corridor were advised to remove all structures within the designated road right of way to prevent damage to property and avoid potential losses during the construction period.
