DCE JOINS MP TO COMMISSION MAJOR EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AT AVEYIME BATTOR SHTS

On Tuesday, 14th April 2026, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, joined the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to commission major educational and residential facilities at Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School.

The newly commissioned facilities include a 250 capacity classroom block with staff offices and ancillary facilities, an 8 unit teachers’ bungalow, mechanised water and hygiene systems, and a mosque. The integrated project marks a significant investment in education and community development in the district.

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe commended Qatar Charity for its valuable partnership and contribution to improving educational infrastructure in North Tongu. She noted that the project will enhance teaching and learning and support the holistic development of students.

The DCE also welcomed the announcement that the first group of teachers to occupy the newly constructed bungalows will do so rent free, a move expected to boost teacher morale and improve staff retention.

The project stands as a strong symbol of the growing cooperation between Ghana and Qatar and reflects a shared commitment to advancing education and community development.
