Residents of Tagadzi in the North Tongu District are set to participate in a major cleanup exercise as part of activities marking National Sanitation Day on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The initiative is being led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The exercise is expected to mobilize community members, youth groups, and local organizations to improve sanitation conditions across the area.

According to the announcement, the cleanup will begin at 6:00 am in Tagadzi, with participants expected to clear refuse, desilt gutters, and improve the general cleanliness of public spaces. Officials say the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to promote hygiene, prevent sanitation related diseases, and strengthen community participation in environmental management.

Authorities emphasized that the sanitation drive goes beyond routine cleaning, highlighting its role in building unity and encouraging collective responsibility among residents. Community members have been urged to actively take part and support efforts aimed at keeping North Tongu clean and healthy.
