STAKEHOLDERS HOLD MAIDEN MEETING AHEAD OF SEGE–BATTOR–MEPE ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Engineers from the Ghana Highways Authority and Greater Accra Feeder Roads, together with the District Chief Executives of North Tongu and Ada West, Assembly Members, and other key stakeholders, have held a maiden management meeting in preparation for the commencement of construction works on the Sege–Battor–Mepe Road.

The project involves the construction of a 31.2-kilometer road, which is expected to be completed within a 24-month period. During the meeting, stakeholders were informed that all structures within the road’s right-of-way will be removed, and owners of affected properties were advised to comply to avoid delays to the project.

The contractor appealed to the two District Chief Executives, Assembly Members, and community members to assist in providing security for construction materials along the corridor. This, the contractor explained, will help prevent theft and ensure the delivery of quality and durable work.

In addition, the construction firm announced plans to undertake an HIV/AIDS awareness creation campaign in communities along the project route as part of its corporate social responsibility.

In her remarks, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, expressed appreciation to the engineers and stakeholders for their dedication and efforts in making the project a reality, noting that the road will significantly improve transportation, trade, and socio-economic activities within the district and adjoining areas.
