Engineers from the Ghana Highways Authority, Greater Accra Feeder Roads, and District Chief Executives (DCEs) from the North Tongu and Ada West Districts, together with other key stakeholders, held a maiden management meeting ahead of the commencement of construction works on the Sege–Battor–Mepe road.
The 31.2-kilometer road project is expected to be completed within a period of 24 months.
According to the project module, all structures erected within the road’s right of way will be removed. Owners of affected structures have therefore been advised to heed this caution in order to avoid any undue delay to the project.
The contractor appealed to the two DCEs and other stakeholders, particularly assembly members and community residents, to help provide security for construction materials. This, the contractor noted, would help prevent theft, which could otherwise lead to shoddy and substandard work.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, the construction firm also announced plans to embark on an HIV/AIDS awareness creation campaign in communities along the project corridor.
In her remarks, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, thanked the delegation and expressed appreciation for efforts that have made the project a reality.
