North Tongu – 19th November 2025
The North Tongu District Assembly has extended vital support to 37 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) through the District Assembly Common Fund – Persons With Disabilities Allocation (DACF–PWDA). The assistance focused on education, health, and caregiver support, aimed at empowering beneficiaries and improving their overall quality of life.
Although the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, could not be present, she was represented by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Laryea Tetteh, who presented the cheques to the beneficiaries and explained the guidelines for the fund’s disbursement.
The District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Albert Henyo, also advised beneficiaries to use the funds strictly for their intended purposes to ensure meaningful impact.
This exercise follows an earlier disbursement in September 2025, where 13 PWDs received support. In total, 50 Persons With Disabilities have been supported between September and November, demonstrating the Assembly’s continued commitment to inclusivity and social support.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the FMCG, Hon. Ernest Adika, the President of the PWD Association in North Tongu, Mr. Brown Copper, and other committee members, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to improving the lives of PWDs across the district.
