Battor, North Tongu – 2025
The North Tongu District Assembly has successfully held a two-day General Assembly meeting to deliberate on key administrative, developmental, and financial matters aimed at advancing the district’s progress.
On the first day, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, officially welcomed members and delivered her sessional address, which covered important updates on security, education, health, social services, agriculture, the Volta Trade Fair, and the National Sanitation Day initiative. Following her address, Assembly Members engaged in discussions and sought clarification on several issues highlighted by the DCE. The meeting was subsequently adjourned to the next day for further deliberations.
The second day of the meeting focused on detailed reviews and approvals of several key documents and reports. Members discussed the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report, received and deliberated on the Executive Committee Report, and considered the 2026–2029 District Medium-Term Development Plan Draft, which was duly approved by the house.
Additionally, the Assembly considered and approved the 2026 Annual Action Plan Draft, the 2026 Composite Budget Draft, the 2026 Fee-Fixing Resolution, and the 2026 Revenue Implementation Action Plan Draft.
The two-day session was marked by active participation, constructive dialogue, and a shared commitment to improving governance, accountability, and service delivery within the North Tongu District.
