On Wednesday, 1st July 2026, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, joined the Christian community in the district at the Apostles Revelation Society (ARS), Battor, to observe the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving under the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”

The event brought together clergy, traditional leaders, security services, students, Assembly officials and members of the public who gathered to offer prayers and thanksgiving for God’s continued guidance, peace, protection and prosperity for North Tongu and the nation as a whole.

During her remarks, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe encouraged parents and guardians to take a more active role in the upbringing and moral development of their children. She also urged young people to make responsible choices, avoid drug abuse and other social vices, and contribute positively to the growth and development of their communities.

The District Chief Executive highlighted the importance of shared values, responsible citizenship and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and progressive society. She noted that initiatives that bring communities together in prayer and reflection help strengthen unity, hope and commitment towards national development.

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe expressed her appreciation to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for introducing the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving initiative, which continues to provide an opportunity for Ghanaians to come together in faith, gratitude and a shared vision for the future.

The celebration reaffirmed the importance of faith, unity and strong moral values in promoting social harmony and supporting the continued development of North Tongu and Ghana.
