NORTH TONGU JOINS NATIONAL TREE FOR LIFE INITIATIVE

On Friday, 5th June 2026, the North Tongu District Assembly joined the national Tree for Life Programme through a tree-planting exercise aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, combating climate change, improving biodiversity and creating a greener future for generations to come.

The exercise brought together staff of the Assembly and stakeholders who demonstrated their commitment to protecting our environment through the planting and nurturing of trees. As we work towards sustainable development, it is important that we all play our part in preserving the natural resources that support our livelihoods and wellbeing.

I extend my sincere appreciation to Mr. Yakubu Abukari, District Coordinating Director (DCD), and Mr. Gideon Amegbor, District Environmental Health Officer (DEHO), for their leadership and support in ensuring the success of the exercise. Together, let us plant, nurture and protect trees for a healthier and greener North Tongu.
