On Tuesday, 2nd June 2026, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, participated in a site inspection and stakeholder engagement on the ongoing Sege–Mepe Road Project, a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity, facilitating trade and improving transportation within the district and adjoining communities.

The engagement brought together officials from the Department of Feeder Roads Headquarters in Accra, technical officers from the Ada East District, opinion leaders from Mepe and other key stakeholders to assess the progress of work and discuss measures necessary for the timely and successful completion of the project.

During the meeting, stakeholders reviewed the current state of the project, identified key implementation priorities and reaffirmed their commitment to addressing challenges that could affect its progress. The road project is expected to improve access to markets, reduce travel time, enhance the movement of goods and services and contribute significantly to the socio economic development of the area.

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe expressed her appreciation to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for their continued commitment to infrastructure development and the welfare of the people of North Tongu. She also commended the Department of Feeder Roads and all stakeholders for their collaborative efforts toward the successful implementation of the project.

The District Chief Executive reaffirmed the commitment of the North Tongu District Assembly to providing the necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the Sege–Mepe Road Project, emphasizing that improved road infrastructure remains essential to promoting economic growth, enhancing access to essential services and improving the quality of life for residents across the district.
