VRA DONATES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO FLOOD AFFECTED SCHOOLS IN NORTH TONGU

On Friday, 15th May 2026, the Volta River Authority donated educational materials to selected schools affected by the flood situation in North Tongu to support teaching and learning activities.

The items donated included 8,000 Exercise Note 1 books and 600 mathematical sets for distribution to beneficiary schools across the district.

The schools that benefited from the donation are Mepe R C Primary School, Mepe R C JHS, Mepe Presby JHS, Mepe Degorme D A Primary School, Agbetikpo D A Basic School and Battor D A Methodist School.

The support forms part of ongoing efforts to assist schools and communities affected by the floods and ensure that students continue their education under improved conditions.

On behalf of the North Tongu District Assembly and the people of the district, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, expressed sincere appreciation to the Volta River Authority for the thoughtful and timely intervention.

She also commended the Traditional Authorities and all stakeholders for their continuous collaboration and support towards improving education and community welfare across North Tongu.
