On Friday, 8th May 2026, the North Tongu District Assembly successfully held the official site handing over ceremony for the construction of the Ultra Modern 24 Hour Economy Market at Juapong.

The project marks a major step in efforts to boost local economic activity, create employment opportunities and improve trading conditions within the district. The ceremony brought together stakeholders, community members and project partners in a shared commitment towards the successful implementation of the transformative initiative.

NIMANT Company Limited is the contractor for the project, while PPMC has been engaged as consultants to supervise implementation works.

The District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, expressed appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, and all stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to the development of the district.

The Assembly remains committed to ensuring the successful completion of the project as part of efforts to build a stronger and more economically vibrant North Tongu.
