The National Health Insurance Authority in North Tongu has intensified its free registration and renewal exercise through a sensitisation and market storm initiative aimed at increasing enrollment onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.
The exercise commenced in Juapong with a float through the principal streets, followed by public education and registration activities at the market centre, which continued into the evening. The initiative is expected to continue along the Battor and Mepe corridor, where another float and registration exercise will be organized for residents.
The intervention forms part of efforts to improve access to healthcare by encouraging more residents to register and renew their NHIS membership.
The District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, commended the NHIA North Tongu team for the important initiative and encouraged residents to take advantage of the free registration and renewal exercise, which runs from 15th April to 31st May 2026.
She also expressed satisfaction that beneficiaries are able to use their NHIS cards immediately during the promotion period, reaffirming the collective commitment towards accessible and affordable healthcare for all in North Tongu.
