As part of efforts to improve telecommunications services and internet connectivity in North Tongu, MTN Ghana has scheduled a major network upgrade project for the Juapong community.
The project will involve the installation of poles and the stringing of fibre optic cables along government utility corridors. Work is expected to commence in June 2026 and be completed by August 2026.
In preparation for the project, MTN Ghana paid a courtesy call to the North Tongu District Assembly on 15th May 2026 to formally inform the Assembly of the planned activities and seek its approval and support for the successful implementation of the project.
The meeting was attended by representatives from MTN Ghana, Linfra, the contractor responsible for the works, the Department of Urban Roads, and officials of the North Tongu District Assembly.
The Juapong network upgrade marks the beginning of several planned interventions aimed at addressing connectivity challenges and improving communication services across the North Tongu District.
