On Tuesday, 5th May 2026, the North Tongu District Assembly successfully elected Hon. Isaac Gada, assembly member for the Kluma Electoral Area, as the new presiding member of the assembly.
The election followed earlier Assembly sittings during which the former Presiding Member was unable to secure the constitutionally required two-thirds majority approval after two rounds of voting.
The successful election marks an important step in strengthening local governance and advancing the work of the Assembly towards the development of the district.
On behalf of the Assembly, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the people of North Tongu, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, warmly congratulated Hon. Isaac Gada on his election and welcomed him to his new role.
She expressed her commitment to working closely with the new Presiding Member and all Assembly Members to promote effective legislation, strengthen collaboration, and accelerate development across North Tongu.
Together, the assembly remains committed to building a stronger, united, and progressive North Tongu.
