DCE RECEIVES LAPTOPS TO SUPPORT ONE MILLION CODERS PROGRAMME

On Thursday, 30th April 2026, the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, received 50 high-performing laptops at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council on behalf of the district as part of the government’s One Million Coders Programme.

The laptops were presented by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, with support from the Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council. The intervention forms part of efforts to equip young people with practical digital skills in coding, software development, and technology-driven problem-solving.

The devices will support training, learning and innovation, enabling beneficiaries to take advantage of opportunities within the growing digital economy. The initiative is expected to strengthen youth capacity and promote technology based entrepreneurship across North Tongu.

Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe commended Government for the initiative and reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that beneficiaries receive the necessary training, mentorship and support to maximise the opportunity. She also expressed appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for their continued support toward the development of the district.

The programme is set to empower a new generation of creators, innovators and problem solvers in North Tongu.
