The North Tongu District Assembly joined the rest of the nation to celebrate Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary with a colourful ceremony held at the District Assembly Forecourt.
The event formed part of nationwide activities marking Ghana Independence Day and brought together pupils, students, security services, traditional authorities, and residents to reflect on the country’s progress and reaffirm commitment to unity and national development.
Schools from across the district participated in the celebration through parades and march past activities, displaying discipline and coordination. Security services also took part in the parade, demonstrating their readiness to maintain peace and security within the district.
Present at the celebration were key district officials, including the Presiding Member, the District Coordinating Director, and other distinguished dignitaries from across the district who joined residents to commemorate the historic occasion.
The celebration provided an opportunity for residents to reflect on Ghana’s journey since independence and renew their dedication to building stronger communities and supporting national development efforts within the North Tongu District.
